Dr. Seuss Storytime 3/11/14

Book read:
Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can you? by Dr. Seuss

Other book suggestions:
The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seussy (version of the Hokey Pokey, found here)
You put one fish in (lift 1 finger, then put in in front of you)
You put one fish out (put finger behind you)
You put one fish in and you shake it all about. (shake finger)
You do the Dr. Seussy and you turn yourself about. (turn in a circle)
That's what it's all about!

Additional verses include two fish, cat hat and tail.

Literacy tip of the week: Share rhymes with your child. Rhymes help a child learn that words are made up of different parts. For instance, rhyming cat and hat teaches them how the "c" and "h" sounds differ.

Craft: Decorating Dr. Seuss Hats with torn paper.
